The Department of Radio/Television/Film is searching for a full-time faculty member in interactive media and game design. The successful applicant will hold a position of assistant professor of instruction and will be responsible for facilitating courses such as Game Design Studio, 3D Modelling, and Level Design. The ability to teach creative web media is a plus. We are especially interested in candidates with interdisciplinary interests who can interact with programs across our department such as sound arts, documentary media, film and video production, screenwriting, and screen cultures.
Employment term: A 12-month appointment beginning September 1, 2021. The appointment may be renewed on an annual basis.
Knowledge of software such as Unity, Maya, similar, and willingness to learn.
Professional engagement in the field and college level teaching experience are expected.
Knowledge of (C#, C++, Python) is a plus.
Teaching 6 courses per year and advising interested students
Twice a year, attending Media Arts and Game Design Module Meetings
Attending monthly Production Area Faculty Meetings
Salary: Commensurate with experience.

The School: The School of Communication has five departments and offers a suite of interdisciplinary undergraduate, professional, and graduate programs. The departments span the communication arts and sciences and include the Department of Radio-Television-Film, the Roxelyn and Richard Pepper Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, the Department of Communication Studies, the Department of Performance Studies, and the Department of Theatre (which includes music theatre and dance). The faculty of 150 includes 105 tenure-track faculty. The school offers instruction to roughly 1200 undergraduate majors and 700 graduate and professional students.
