The UNC Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (DPLM) has an open position for a Pathologists' Assistant. This position will primarily involve the performance of autopsies but may also include working with four other PAs who currently cover the UNC Hospitals' Surgical Pathology Gross and Frozen Section Rooms, tissue procurement for the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Gross and Frozen Section Rooms at UNC Hospitals Hillsborough Campus. Teaching pathology residents, medical students, and graduate students is an important component of this position. Weekend responsibilities are limited to the autopsy service on Saturdays only with no major holidays. The Pathologists' Assistants in DPLM are appointed to the Faculty as Clinical Instructors. Education and Experience:
An interest in teaching and good communication skills are required. Prior clinical experience, teaching experience, and tissue banking experience are considered an advantage.
