The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Yale University invites applicants for multiple full-time and part-time teaching positions as Lector or Senior Lector I of Spanish, to begin August 2021 or January 2022.Â The initial appointment will be for one year or one semester, with the possibility of renewal depending on successful performance and ongoing curricular need.
Responsibilities consist of teaching up to three courses per semester of basic and intermediate-level language courses and developing innovative teaching materials in the context of communicative and post-communicative teaching methods.
Salary and rank are commensurate with experience and qualifications.Â Lectors in Spanish and Portuguese are encouraged to participate in the wide range of professional development opportunities offered through the department, the Center for Language Study, the Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning, and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Deanâ€™s Office.Â Those teaching at least three courses per academic year will be eligible for Yaleâ€™s generous package of benefits, including health coverage.
