The Data Engineer has broad responsibility for the design, development, and maintenance of data warehouse and data lake solutions in an increasingly cloud-based infrastructure. These solutions transform data from on-premises and cloud-based sources across institutional domains into data structures optimized for reporting and analytics.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with 2 or more years experience or equivalent education and experience in a data engineering or data warehouse development role required. • Proven experience with ETL/ELT design and development. • Proven experience working with data warehouses, including dimensional modeling. • Excellent communication and requirements gathering skills.
• Cloud data platform architecture and development skills. Strong preference for Azure experience (Data Factory, Data Lake Storage Gen2, Synapse Analytics, Databricks). • Proven experience securing data lakes/warehouses in hybrid architectures – both data and platform. • DBA and/or cloud infrastructure experience. • Data lake design skills (zones, partitioning, etc.). • RDBMS development and performance tuning skills, with both Oracle (PL/SQL) and SQL Server (T-SQL). • Experience with cataloging data, metadata, and data lineage.
