Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a Student Assistant for the Rutgers University Biostatistics & Epidemiology Services (RUBIES), within the Rutgers School of Public Health. Under direction of the Manager, the Student Assistant will provide support and assist faculty and staff of RUBIES in data management, data analysis, report writing, creation of tables and figures, consultations, power calculations, workshop development, literature review, and other tasks as needed.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Assists with data management.
Assists with creation of tables, figures, and other descriptives.
Carries out data analysis, including fitting of models.
Meets with clients to discuss their research projects and provide recommendations on the design and analysis plan.
Holds office hours, as needed, for walk-in consultations.
Assists RUBIES faculty in staff in developing workshops.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Current Rutgers' student.
Bachelor's Degree in Biostatistics.
Training in biostatistics or related field.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Quantitative analytic skills.
Detail-oriented and well-organized.
Experience with using SAS and R.
Good communication skills.
Experience in biostatistical consulting or data analysis.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Lift or exert force up to 25 pounds.
