Delta College is seeking a results oriented, organized and detailed individual to join our team. This individual will work to serve Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! clients and will facilitate staff success to meet the contract requirements. Responsibilities to include supervision of employees at multiple locations, budget, community outreach and overall employment services program oversight. This is a grant funded position and the individual will be required to travel to service centers and job sites in Bay, Midland and Saginaw Counties.
Assure that all offices maintain compliance with all sections in the Employment Services manual/regulations and additional updates
Ensure proper staffing levels at all sites.
Provide appropriate equipment/materials
Report/resolve technology related issues
Develop/implement emergency staffing plan for each office
Monitor customer traffic/flow
Review and approval of internal orders and requisitions
Review and approval of mileage
Review and approval of monthly time sheets
Coordinate with Manager of Business and Grant Administrator
Liaison between Business Services Team and Employment Services staff
Attend appropriate community functions as defined by MWA (Workforce Development Board meetings, career/job fairs, etc)
Support MWA initiatives (ex. Sector Strategies Initiatives, Business Services Team)
Support One Stop partners and coordinate services through recruitment, referrals, and other collaborative efforts.
Provide communication and marketing expertise promoting jobs and events on social media posts ensuring accuracy and brand message consistency.
Liaison for all Rapid Response meetings (business closures/downsizing)
Oversight of Wagner-Peyser and WIOA Core by regular on site review; provide support to TAA program
Facilitate a positive working relationship and lines of communication with other One Stop service providers to assure mutual goal attainment.
Work with MWA administration to ensure program oversight, staffing and business services coordination are aligned with MWA goals and LEO-WD policy.
Complete all reports as requested by state and local MWA
Maintain local compliance and performance standards
Generate reports, interpret data and develop appropriate action plans to meet program goals
Collaborate in the interpretation/dissemination of MWA/state reports
Review internal forms, reports and customer information to identify problems or improvements
Develop and implement records management for filing, retrieval and protection of records
Compile and report monthly customer service statistics
Coordinate hiring process (vacancy posting, credential review, interviewing)
Training/cross training of new and existing staff on all Michigan Works services, PMTC, internal/external reporting, customer service.
Prepare manuals, develop and deliver training for implementation of new internal systems or processes and those mandated by state or local MWA
Actively solicit suggestions from line staff (processes, reporting, training needs)
Lead staff in successfully meeting goals established by MWA.
Conduct performance appraisals for staff.
Access and disseminate relevant information (ex. rules/regulation, program/agency) updates to all staff
Attend professional development activities as assigned.
Minimum of two years supervisory experience
Minimum of two years experience in reading, interpreting, analyzing and applying regulations, guidelines and/or laws.
Evidence of intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Ability to make decisions based on data, strong interpersonal skills, excellent written skills
Additional Experiences Considered:
Previous experience (at least one year) providing Michigan Works! or other similar federal program services (TAA, WP, WIOA, NAFTA) and other federal programs
