Duties of a Safety Officer II at Delta College off Campus Centers will have a variety of duties and tasks. First the applicant must be able to patrol the premises on foot and patrol the building and parking areas. Safety Officers also provide vehicle unlock and battery jump services for students, faculty and guests of Delta College. Officers will need to be self-motivated and self-disciplined and will report to a staff member at the off Campus Center and will maintain direct radio contact with dispatch at the Public Safety dispatch desk.
Officers will be responsible for securing the building at the end of their shifts and assuring that all faculty and students have safely left Campus prior to the end of their shift. Other duties will include parking enforcement, smoking enforcement and maintaining a daily log to be completed at the end of their shift. There may be times when an officer is required to write a brief report depending on the nature of the incident.
High School Diploma or GED
Michigan Driver’s License with good driving record
No felony convictions
Additional Experiences Considered:
Security or Law Enforcement experience such as working on a Reserve Unit at a Police Department
Must successfully pass a background investigation prior to being employed.
Outgoing personality and enjoys working with people
Very service oriented
