Daily health checks on the approximately 500 cow/calf pairs, 200 replacement heifers, and 100 developing bulls which may include some weekends. Will assist in routine animal care including processing animals in chute/tub areas and vaccinating. Opportunity to learn Artificial Insemination (AI) techniques in cattle and to perform AI. Will assist in carrying out research projects by following protocols established and may also reduce expenses related to outsourcing AI for herds. Will assist in calving including occasional night shifts. Routine power washing of working facilities and pen cleaning during calving. Routine cleaning and maintenance of vehicles. Fence building and Facility maintenance.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED plus one year of experience with basic farm and ranch activities; equivalent education/experience considered. Ability to read records and communicate effectively. Ability to operate vehicles and farm equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
Associate’s degree in agriculture or related field. Experience with calving, vaccine administration, AI, and estrus detection. Experience operating farm equipment. AI certification.
Posted Salary: $14.50/hr minimum
