The Athletics Development and Alumni Relations Coordinator, reporting directly to the Assistant VP/Director of Athletics, and indirectly to the Executive Director of Annual Giving in University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR), will be responsible for promoting the mission of the NYU Athletics Department among current and former student-athletes, Profiles of current student-athletes, other NYU alumni and friends of the University. Identify, cultivate and solicit first-time and ongoing gifts below $10,000 with the goal of establishing a predictable and growing base of philanthropic annual support for NYU Athletics. Work in very close collaboration with Leadership Annual Giving Officers, Major Gift Officers, Directors of Development and Executive Directors of Development in University Development and Alumni Relations to identify, solicit and close gifts above the $10,000 threshold. Plan and execute events that strategically engage former student-athletes, current Profiles, NYU alumni and friends of the University with the goal of identifying new philanthropic prospects and stewarding donors. Work in coordination with the coaching staff, assistant and associate directors in the department to effectively engage the NYU Athletics community through these events. Assist the Assistant VP/ Director of Athletics with departmental initiatives and special programs as assigned. Function as a liaison between NYU Athletics and University Development and Alumni Relations.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree
Required Experience: 1+ years related experience (in sports information, public or alumni relations, marketing, advertising, fundraising), planning and implementing programs or events or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience: 1+ years Related experience at a higher education institution. Experience managing budgets.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle multiple, diverse assignments. Knowledge of web and graphic design software.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of college sports, NCAA Division III athletics, NYU and its sports history.
