This full-time will directly report to the MSU Statewide Campus System (SCS) Assistant Dean, Director and SCS Director of Research.
This Specialist-Outreach position will utilize a separate consultation mechanism from the other SA specialists and prioritize consult requests based on other pending SCS, SMRJ Editorial Office and MSUCOM events and initiatives. The way this specialist will be deployed to meet the needs of MSUCOM students, administration and the Spartan Medical Research Journal (SMRJ) editorial team will be re-negotiated during each appointment year.
Primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
provide expert guidance to MSUCOM students, SCS-affiliated residents and faculty concerning scholarly activity (SA) dissemination product (e g., poster, presentation, manuscript) planning, submission and publication.
deliver pertinent SA educational presentations and workshops for MSUCOM faculty, students and SCS-affiliated residents and faculty groups.
participate in pertinent MSUCOM curricular committees.
maintain recordkeeping concerning SCS and MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM) SA service productivity and metrics.
serve as a SA liaison with SCS Physician Advisory Councils (PAC) to facilitate formulation of projects and initiatives.
participate in discussions concerning prospective multi-system/program SA projects.
assist the editorial team regarding editorial submission-to-typesetting processes; participate in overall journal strategic planning and policy formulation with the SMRJ Chief and Senior Editors.
consult with SCS-affiliated healthcare systems and administration to plan, deliver and evaluate SA events and productivity levels. and
serve as the SCS-MSUCOM liaison to strategically plan SA service lines with other MSU academic units.

Minimum qualifications for this position include a Masters degree in healthcare, graduate medical education or pertinent field and five years demonstrated experience in SA (scholarly activity) program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Completed or working towards a terminal degree in healthcare, graduate medical education or related field, background in healthcare analytics and administrative reporting, experience in undergraduate medial education instruction and past experience as a member of a journal editorial office team.
