1.Oversee the processes for making teaching assignments. Coordinate with YSN, Division Chairs and Specialty Directors to ensure that recommended teaching assignments are strategic in considering needs of students, the school, and the career and scholarly needs of faculty members. 2.Prospectively monitor current and future needs for part-time and full-time lecturers across the academic programs based upon enrollment projections, matriculation plans, faculty practice gaps and other pertinent data. Oversee the selection process, hiring, and orientation of part-time and full-time lecturers through collaboration with applicable academic specialty directors and the Business Office. Serve as primary liaison to the Yale Office of the Provost. 3.Oversees the process of appointment and reappointment of traditional faculty. Ensures YSN processes are congruent with the Office of the Provost and updates YSN processes, as needed. Works with Business Office and Associate Dean of Research Office to ensure that faculty receive orientation to YSN, department, program specialty and role/function. 4.Functions as a representative of the YSN EDD Office to liaises with other school and university offices, faculty, students, staff and external contacts. Identify needed academic policies, lead development of academic policies using a collaborative approach, and make academic policy recommendations to EDD, Yale Legal Counsel and BPO. Oversees implementation of assigned academic policies. 5.Functions as a representative of the YSN EDD Office with the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) in regard to course numbering, catalog revisions, and course scheduling. Works collaboratively with OSA on the annual and ongoing revision of the Bulletin and Student Handbooks in consultation with appropriate YSN committee structure and approval leadership process. Assures consistency within and across documents. Assures changes adopted by academic programs throughout the year are accurately reflected in document updates. Work with division chairs, specialty directors, units and communication director and staff to assure consistency in information presented across written and electronic sources. 6.Prepare academic program reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and establish appropriate recommendations or conclusions. Ensure accurate data are maintained of past faculty teaching assignments, course schedules, past enrollments by course, and projections of enrollment to facilitate accurate and timely course scheduling, planning of teaching assignments and hiring of part-time clinical lecturers, as needed. 7.Primary lead across divisions and academic programs, YSN units and committees and initiatives related to the work of academic affairs, such as development of state and national accreditation reports, campus accreditation, and readiness for site visits. 8.Primary lead across divisions and academic programs related to the work of academic affairs and the development of new programs and initiatives, conducting gap analyses, and identifying appropriate funding applications. Works collaboratively with Associate Dean of Development related to donor interest and external funding opportunities. Supports grant writing activities. 9.Ensure the preparation and timely submission of reports to organizations that accredit and regulate academic programs in coordination with division chairs, specialty directors and the ADAA. Prepare major self-studies of the academic programs for internal and external review. 10.Serve as the primary contact for the YSN Academic Support Unit on the development, implementation and use of electronic systems such as the teaching assignment management system (TAMS), Canvas, and other learning management systems that may be put in place. 11.Supervise 2-3 employees. 12.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
