The UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCDCCC) is a matrix organization under the aegis of UC Davis Health and University of California, Davis. Designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as a Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Center is a clinical and research enterprise consisting of 228 faculty members from the Davis, Sacramento and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory campuses with research funding totaling $50.7M and a robust Clinical Research Program with over 250 trials (Phase I-III) open to accrual at any given time.
The UC Davis Cancer Care Network (CCN) is a national model for optimizing integrated, collaborative cancer care. The Cancer Care Network extends the UC Davis NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center to community cancer centers throughout Northern and Central California providing leadership, clinical care, research, clinical trials and education for diverse communities. The Cancer Care Network has two LLC sites, one LLC satellite campus and three affiliate campuses. The CCN is in the process of adding several additional LLC sites to its portfolio in Northern and Central California.

Responsibilities The Quality Assurance Officer supports the mission of the UCDCCC through the performance of quality assurance activities critical to clinical research operations. The primary purpose of the Quality Assurance Officer position is to collaborate with the Principal Investigators in all aspects of clinical research conduct to ensure compliance is in alignment with Good Clinical Practice and all regulatory agencies and maintains knowledge of the research process in compliance with institutional policies, IRB and federal regulations.
Experience with clinical trial accrual process including protocol requirements, IRB approvals and renewals, tile process of informed consenting, and follow-up of patients on protocol in order to evaluate quality assurance.
Advanced experience with computer operating systems and proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, and graphics software.
Must have demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills by phone, email and in-person communication.
Must be able to assimilate pertinent information in order to compose written correspondence.
Must be able to perform analyses and present data and information in clear and concise report formats.
Must be able to use performance improvement evaluation methods, tools and techniques of problem-solving and group dynamics management when implementing changes identified through quality assurance efforts.
Must have analytical skills to solve complex problems and to investigate various sources of information and techniques and develop acceptable solutions.
Must have administrative skills and experience exercising good judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness.
Analytical skills to evaluate information, practices and procedures, formulate logical and objective conclusions, and make recommendations for effective solutions, strategies, and/or approaches.
Analytical skills to independently and proficiently assume responsibility for coordination and completion of complex projects requiring interactions with parties in an organizational structure.
Must be able to work with multiple external parties in a professional manner as a representative of the CCN, Office of Clinical Research, UCDCCC, and the University of California, Davis.
Must be able to prepare written materials of a diverse nature using correct grammar, effective diction, correct spelling, and appropriate form to establish good rapport with the general public, co-workers, physicians, patients, caregivers, clinic staff, and other health care professionals.
Five years of professional experience in a health care or academic setting with a minimum of two years' experience with research protocols and regulatory compliance. Experience in cancer field.
Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field.
Maintenance of Annual MAT requirements and TB surveillance.
Must be able to travel by car throughout Northern, Central and Southern CA.
Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA)
Must be able to work occasional overtime as work demands.
This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
