The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications to a 9-month, non-tenure track position for a Clinical Assistant Professor in Instructional and Learning Design Technology beginning June 1, 2021 with the potential for this position to convert to a tenure track line.
The successful candidate will work with faculty to design, obtain approval, and launch a master's degree in Instructional and Learning Design Technology (ILDT) along with a 12-hour certificate program in Learning Design Technology; teach courses in ILDT programs; offer campus-wide training to faculty, graduate students, and staff in collaboration with UTA's Center for Distance Education and Center for Research on Teaching and Learning Excellence; demonstrate the potential for conducting high quality research in the field; and engage in professional service activities nationally/internationally and across the university, college, and department.
Required qualifications for appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor include an earned doctorate by May 31, 2021 in Instructional Design, Learning Design Technology, Educational Technology, or a related field; expertise in teaching and learning using technology; experience in designing and delivering online instruction using various learning modalities (e.g., synchronous, asynchronous, blended); strong oral and written communication skills; and potential for leadership.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in university teaching in traditional and online environments and a commitment to developing collaborative relationships.
