The Department of Preventive Medicine is recruiting a full-time Project Assistant for a behavioral health and tobacco cessation treatment study. This Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) study is funded by the Tobacco-Related Disease Research Program (TRDRP). The study is examining dyadic processes that support and/or hinder smoking cessation attempts in same-sex couples.
The Project Assistant will work as part of a team of researchers and will have primary responsibilities that support successful completion of the demands and aims of the study. Specifically, tasks include maintaining an in-depth understanding of all study protocols, recruiting and screening participants, collecting and inputting data from participants, and tracking participants during the course of the stud.
Other duties include organizing study-specific documents, recruiting undergraduate research assistant volunteers, scheduling meetings with co-investigators and other stakeholders, and providing project support to the research study and the study staff personnel and investigators.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a behavioral research setting, have excellent organizational skills, work as a collaborative member of a research team, be able to work independently and with personal motivation, and have good interpersonal skills in relation to interacting with study participants and research staff. The position is full time and requires 5 days/week attendance at our facilities at theÂ USCÂ Health Sciences Campus in Los Angeles, CA and/or online using a home office (as per current public health guidelines).
