The pre-apprentice internship is a 4 week program required before being considered for PPPL's Apprenticeship Program. The successful candidate will be introduced to working as a IT Generalist apprentice before joining PPPL’s Apprenticeship Program.
The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory is a world-class fusion energy research laboratory managed by Princeton University for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science. PPPL is dedicated to developing the scientific and technological knowledge base for fusion energy. The Laboratory advances the fields of fusion energy and plasma physics research to develop the scientific understanding and key innovations needed to realize fusion as an energy source for the world.

Maintain a presence at the helpdesk responding to and addressing staff needs
Prepare and maintain technical documentation and IT knowledgebase
Diagnose hardware and software problems through vendor supplied tools
Prepares computers for deployment into PPPL ensuring proper configuration management and best practices
Identifies and responds to anomalies in PPPL’s IT infrastructure included network, telephony, and enterprise applications
Detects and responds to cyber security events
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma and Equivalent
You must be at least 18 years old by July 12th, 2021.
You must be eligible for work in the United States.
