Under the supervision of the President, the Compliance Officer/Title IX Coordinator is responsible for overseeing Compliance and Title IX acquiescence for the College.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1.Ensure that the Board of Trustees, President, management and employees are in compliance with the rules and regulations of governing agencies, College policies/procedures are being adhered to and the behavior in the institution meets standards of conduct. 2.Direct, execute and manage the day-to-day responsibilities associated with the College's compliance with the Title IX Education Amendments of 1972, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization of 2012 (VAWA). 3.Administration, assessment and directing of compliance programs, and training, institution-wide. Assuring of adherence to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, College regulations, Board policies and bylaws throughout community. 4.Oversee, evaluate and reporting of incidents related to the Coronavirus; ensure safe practices are being communicated and adhered to by the College community. 5.Collect facts related to the reporting of Title IX incidents; assess, review, and determine necessary measures to ensure investigation and case management plan is in compliance. 6.Implementation, management and communication of the College's Compliance and Title IX policies and procedures. 7.Project management skills and the ability to develop, and communicate, ad-hoc reports on Title IX, Compliance and Covid19 data. 8.Recruit, train and provide leadership to department staff and employees who serve as Deputy, Investigator and all other roles associated with the compliance of Title IX. 9.Ensure that students are aware of their options and resources for reporting and filing complaints alleging sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual misconduct and relationship violence. 10.Management and overseeing of activities, staff and requests as related to the Open Public Records Act (OPRA). 11.Formulating, implementing, communicating and executing of Compliance and Title IX strategies, goals, and objectives; as well as, leading a strategic vision that effectively manages and mitigates risk. 12.Assess, evaluate and implement the improvement of the College's Compliance and Title IX practices through systematic and ongoing risk assessment, in coordination with senior management and other administrators throughout the College. 13.The Compliance and Title IX responsibilities includes reporting under the direction of the College President to the Board of Trustees, President, and Cabinet regarding compliance, ethics, risk management, Title IX and information related to Covid19. 14.Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest developments in higher education law and compliance. 15.Perform other related duties as required.
1.Masters degree. 2.Demonstrated ability to work independently, under pressure, to prioritize assignments, and to exercise sound judgment at all times. 3.Evidence of critical analytical skills in relation to systems, procedures, regulations, and data prepared or reviewed, in the areas of Compliance and Title IX. 4.Excellent analytical, leadership, problem-solving, decision making, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. 5.Demonstrated ability to develop and effectively present information to executive level, public groups and/or Board of Trustees. 6.Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
1.Masters degree in Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice or related area. 2.Title IX Coordinator Certification and/or Title IX Investigator Certification. 3.Demonstrated ability to develop and implement Compliance and Title IX strategies and solutions. 4.Demonstrated knowledge of current and developing Compliance and Title IX issues and trends in higher education, preferably at the community college level.
