Trinity Christian College seeks a part-time Assistant Registrar-Transfer Evaluation Specialist. The Transfer Evaluation Specialist manages course and transfer credit databases and processes and will be responsible for initial set up of new equivalencies in external course database.
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
Manages courses and transfer credit equivalencies in the student information system
Sets up and manages transfer credit equivalencies in external course equivalency databases
Working with the registrar, maintains accurate course information in student information system, updating annually and/or as needed
Implements college policy in transcript evaluation and issuance of college credit for current and admitted students
Develops and manages general and program transfer guides/articulation agreements
Responds to questions from students about transfer credit
In coordination with the degree auditor, verifies accuracy of student records in the student information system, particularly new students
Completes transcript evaluations for prospective/admitted students
Approves transfer credit requests for current students and updates their academic records when that credit is transferred
Participates in new student and freshman registration (Blueprints), convocation, commencement, and other events associated with the Registrar’s Office as needed
Know college policies, procedures, and practices with the ability to answer work related questions; and/or interpret and apply these guidelines correctly in various situations—particularly in regard to transfer credit
Manages and processes course variation requests, e.g., course substitutions, independent study, incomplete, field education, audits, off campus, and honors
A bachelor’s degree is required with one or more years of related experience in education setting, preferably post-secondary. An intermediate or advanced level of understanding of higher education structure and FERPA are preferred.
Additional qualifications include:
Ability to learn and use CAMS (Unit 4) database software
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite effectively: Outlook, Excel, and Word
Ability to set up and maintain files on computer
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
Ability to write reports and correspondence clearly and with correct spelling and grammar
Ability to present information effectively and clearly in one-on-one and small group situations with students, faculty, and staff
Telephone and email contact is frequent and ongoing
Customer service orientation for students, faculty, and staff from other departments
Personal desk space in open office shared with one or more other staff
Flexible hours, with some optional telecommuting
