Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Five (5) years of full-time experience in management in a healthcare facility. Four (4) years of full-time supervisory experience. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Apps. Knowledge of Electronic Health Records.
Preferred Qualifications: MBA, MPH, or Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in a health care related field. Advanced Certificate in Health Care Management. Six (6+) years of full-time experience in management in a healthcare facility. Five (5+) years of full-time supervisory experience. Knowledge and experience with NYS regulations, policies, and laws pertaining to an Article 28 Diagnostic and Treatment Center.
Brief Description of Duties: Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, the Director of Clinical Operations will ensure the efficient administration and operation of the Dental Care Center (DCC), including the mobile community services. They will ensure compliance with all University, Federal and State, CDC, OSHA, and Environmental Health and Safety standards, guidelines, and regulations
Plans, directs and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the DCC under the guidance of the SDM Dean for Clinical Affairs and the Director of Ambulatory Operations for SBM.
Assists in the development of the centers vision and strategic plans, as well as executing the recommendations and initiatives set by leadership.
Plans, develops, directs and monitors initiatives to improve and maintain desired performance targets in the areas of patient care, clinical and financial operations, revenue cycle, patient experience, and quality performance.
Selects, assigns, supervises and evaluates clinical support and administrative support staff. Oversees personnel administration and performance management with the human resources department.
Collaborates with DCC leadership to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and employees, and enforcement of emergency action plans when necessary.
Ensures clinical and administrative information systems operate effectively and offers recommendations that enhance the clinical operations and business activities within the Center.
Ensures compliance with policies and procedures. Resolves patient complaints and monitors patient and staff satisfaction.
Assists in troubleshooting institutional issues as they relate to the DCC.
Oversees scheduling to ensure adequate staffing.
Responsible for site financial management including development of annual operating budgets and participation in business development initiatives.
In conjunction with SDM leadership, collaboratively responsible for implementing business plan components and monitoring achievement of benchmarks and goals and changing direction as needed. Oversees the business office functions of the center and serves as primary contact with revenue cycle, managed care and finance.
Responsible for tracking and reporting operating and financial results and develops strategies to address unfavorable performance that promote achieving the centers desired goals and outcomes.
Oversees scheduling of student and resident cases to ensure requirements are met
Administrative oversight of residents attendance, adherence to Policies and procedures
Liaison between residents and clinical leadership and program director of issues associated with resident experience
Manages pre-authorization of treatment as it relates to residents fulfilling CODA and NYS Licensure requirements
Provides patient care coordination in multi-disciplinary cases
Order, organization and security of all supplies and equipment
Preventive maintenance of dental equipment
Community-Based and Mobile Dental Unit Services 5% Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs
Maintain administrative standards for the operation of community services.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Assist in submitting required financial reports to the NYSDOH.
Collaborate with School-Based Programs in the Long Island Community.
Oversee the schedule, maintenance, and operation of the Mobile Dental Unit.
Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.
Special Notes: This is a full time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
