Keene State College invites applications for an Assistant Director of Community Living to ensure the delivery of a residential education program that fosters safe, supportive, and inclusive living and learning communities that engage students in the fostering of their academic success, personal growth, leadership development, and social responsibility. The successful candidate will develop and implement innovative strategies that lead to student success in a welcoming and authentically diverse community of learning and social interaction in which all perspectives are valued. Reporting to the Director of Transitions & Community Living, the Assistant Director functions with a high degree of autonomy and is primarily responsible for the execution of an effective, creative, and well-rounded community living education curriculum based on broad goals established collaboratively with the Director and the Associate Vice President for Student Engagement.
â¢ Masterâs Degree in related functional area â¢ A minimum of 3 years of experience in college student housing/residential life or related functional area â¢ Knowledge of college student development theory and practice â¢ Demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion â¢ Proven experience with assessment and evaluation of programs and events â¢ Proven ability to prepare and deliver professional presentations, explain complex ideas to diverse audiences, build consensus, and influence decision-making â¢ Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications including MS Office Systems, such as Word, Excel, and relational databases â¢ Demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills â¢ Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and self-directed â¢ Ability and willingness to work some evening, weekends, and holiday hours as necessary
