The Advanced Practice Provider Associate Administrator is a transformational, visionary leader that manages the integration of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) successfully within Keck Medical Center of USC by implementing state-of-the-art patient-care models aligned with the institutionâs future vision and operational needs.
This position will report dually to Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of Keck/Norris Hospital and CNO or USC CARE Medical Group. A key objective for The Advance Practice Provider Associate Administrator is to ensure industry standard APP practice and implementation of best practices across Keck.Â She/he will have oversight of the APPs in various specialty service lines. S/he will provide leadership to Â Â APPs through excellent management, coaching, and mentoring to make sure their development is in concert with Keck Medical Center of USC mission, values, and goals. Â Practicing outstanding performance-management skills, s/he will cultivate and foster an empowered and engaged workforce by establishing and maintaining a practice environment consistent with Keck commitment to patient centered care, new knowledge and innovation, team collaboration, and evidence-based practice. By building collaborative relationships with multiple counterparts and key stakeholders, including physician, nursing, and administrative leadership, Associate Administrator will assure the advancement of organizational goals, programs, and projects. Â This position will be responsible for ensuring that policies and procedures regarding hiring, credentialing, privileging, care-delivery model, performance appraisal/competency assessment are expertly met.
The Advanced Practice Provider Associate Administrator will develop well-structured metrics and data for assessing outcomes of APP quality-of-care, ensuring that APPs meet State and Federal regulatory-agency requirements. These metrics and data will provide accurate information for major changes and improvements going forward and will ensure that APPs participate in cost-saving and revenue-generating opportunities.
Minimum Education:â¢Master's Degree In Nursing, OR Physician Assistant (PA), Or Other Healthcare-Related Field From An Accredited University. Minimum Experience/Knowledge:â¢8+ years of Advanced Practice experienceâ¢5+ years of broad and extensive leadership experience managing and overseeing programs, work units or departments of comparable size, scope and complexity.â¢Ability to provide effective staff supervision:-Including planning and assigning work according to the nature of the job to be accomplished-The capabilities of subordinates and available resources-Controlling work through periodic reviews and/or evaluations-Determining subordinates' training needs and arranging for such training; motivating subordinates to work effectively-Determining the need for disciplinary action and either recommending or initiating disciplinary action.â¢Knowledge of professional nursing theory, clinical practice standards, medical practice guidelines, physician assistant practice agreement and scope of APP roles.â¢Ability to provide leadership and promote change in a positive manner that supports all employees of the department and health system.â¢Ability to independently seek out resources and solve complex problems even under stressful and/or crisis situations.â¢Ability to communicate effectively with APPs, team leaders, patients, families, visitors, healthcare team, physicians, administrators, leadership, and others.â¢Ability to process and prioritize information, perform health assessments, treatment, and follow-up. Ability to prepare reports and presentations Ability to use a personal computer and proficiency in using standard business software applications and ability to learn quickly new software programs.â¢Ability to provide leadership in clinical area of expertise and in meeting organizational goals.â¢Ability to navigate the Hospital to provide clinical expertise to specific patient populations.â¢Knowledge of the principles and practices of leadership and management, including planning, organizing, directing, motivating, controlling and decision making; organization and operation of hospitals; standards and requirements relating to compliance with external regulatory, accrediting, and certifying bodies for assigned programs/areas of responsibility; principles and practices of human resources management, employee relations, organizational behavior, program planning, and financial management..
