The position is responsible for coordination with faculty and administrators and providing installation, upgrade, and comprehensive support for computers in the classroom environment. This position is responsible for performing and ensuring the smooth transition for computer deployments to faculty and staff. The position provides support to IT by acting as a technical agent to the purchasing and procurement operations at PVCC. *Job Duties*: * Ensures comprehensive computer classroom functionality to college * Works with faculty and administration to facilitate instructional requirements for e-classrooms and computer labs (PCs and Macs). Computer functionality and software needs are addressed in regard to planning and implementing images or ala carte installs needed by upcoming classes or events * Ensures documentation is in order as changes are made * Ensures regular maintenance of computers and addresses equipment faults in classrooms promptly to minimize impact on instruction. Serves on the enterprise change management committee * Records all incoming laptops (or other computers utilizing tracking) and ensures that they have established connection with the tracking system * Uses Computrace (or other authorized system) features as necessary to secure and trace computers after a loss or theft * Utilizes help desk procedures to document and resolve issues for callers. Supports end user requests. Provides follow-up with parties to ensure satisfactory results. Mentors hourly support staff. This position requires administrator access to install, troubleshoot and maintain College information systems * Provides IT support to the purchasing requirements of the college. Researches computers and components for compatibility with existing systems. Interacts with vendors and integrates with college purchasing agent. Completes, submits for approval, and tracks requisitions and receipts to ensure fulfillment of order * Coordinates purchases and deployments with Help Desk Manager * Works directly with faculty and staff for computer deployments * Completes each wave of faculty and staff deployments in a timely manner * Assesses computers for hardware problems * Contacts vendors for warranty or repair * Maintains manifest and works directly with building and grounds and finance office to ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive surplus of equipment * Coordinates surplus activities once a quarter
* Knowledge of and experience with Windows Operating Systems, Macintosh OS and help desk operations. * Self-motivation and the ability to exercise independent judgment. * Proven success working within help desk environment and taking direction from supervisor. * A minimum of 1 year of experience installing and maintaining hardware and software systems. * Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team member. * Possess excellent interpersonal, communications, and collaborative skills. * Must have the people skills and the ability to work cooperatively with all levels of the college.
