Associate Director, Admissions - Undergraduate Admissions, School of Arts and Sciences - (21001229)
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions recruits potential applicants and selects students for the School of Arts & Sciences, School of Engineering, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. The Admissions team embraces the mission of the university and the goals of the undergraduate admissions office which include attracting and enrolling a diverse cohort of first year and transfer students via a robust recruitment and enrollment initiatives plan that has equity and inclusion as its guiding principle.
The Associate Director of Admissions designs, implements and directs effective recruitment objectives set by the Dean for the school. They direct the activities of the diversity and access recruitment portfolio, oversees the planning and execution of the diversity fly-in programs, monitors budgets and is responsible for the performance of 2-3 Admissions Counselors and/or Assistant Directors as well as a Program Assistant. They work with their undergraduate admissions colleagues to ensure a diverse and academically talented pool who want to engage with a community of learners like the one found at Tufts. Participating in Committee Based Evaluation, the Associate Director reads and evaluates applications as part of a team, participates in the selection process and may serve as Chair of a selection committee. Additionally, they will participate in recruitment events both on and off campus as well as virtually and manage an assigned geographic territory. As a member of the management team, they will contribute to discussions about admissions policies, recruitment strategies, communications plans among other items.
Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience in admissions, college counseling or related field with demonstrated increasing responsibility.
Proficiency with CRM management software and Microsoft office suite.
Strong public speaking and presentation skills
Valid US Driver's license
Experience with Slate
Experience with committee-based evaluation or team-based reading
