Rutgers University-Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking an Associate Director SPVR. Reports to the Senior Director of Operations and Services.
The Associate Director SPVR: - Provides managerial leadership for the Mechanical Maintenance and Grounds Departmental Operations - Responsible for developing standards and operating procedures for said operational units - Develops/manages specific respective budget requests - Coordinates and supervises the activities of the Operations Area Managers and various outside vendors - Serves as a liaison to the University Facilities Utilities Division providing assistance and direction as needed and provides support as required for all buildings, residences and condominium buildings owned or operated by the University

Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree, preferably in business, management, engineering or architecture or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Plus a minimum of five years of increasingly responsible experience in facilities leadership/management in a higher education or institutional setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
A bachelor's degree, preferably in business, management, engineering or architecture or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience;
A minimum of eight years of increasingly responsible experience in facilities management is required, five years of which must be in a leadership/management position, in a higher education or institutional setting;
Must have excellent management, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
Computer proficiency (Windows) and knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems;
Project management experience to include knowledge of blueprint reading, contracts, RFP's and RFQ's, construction and building codes.
Completion of the APPA Institute for Facilities Management or certification in a recognized Facilities Management
AiM work order management systems,
Kronos time and attendance system,
Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
