The Managerof Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) will have prior training in Human Resources, particularly in building and supporting diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven project management track record and the ability to build and drive the programs that support and sustain the organizations workforce diversity, inclusiveness, education, and retention efforts.
Identify, build, and sustain a strategic plan for creating and maintaining a DEI Program
Lead DEI initiatives and strategic objectives; provide strategic vision, leadership, coordination, and planning
Track, trend, and report metrics that will measure the effectiveness of diversity initiatives
Determine methods that will strategically utilize the data to meet goals, targets, and gauge change in culture with continuous improvement
Serve as a subject matter expert and change agent to coach and lead critical and sensitive conversations, trainings, and employee relations around DEI
Collaborate with Affiliates, Stakeholders, and all levels of Leadership to build a welcoming and inclusive culture for all, including patients and families
Work collaboratively across the affiliate to apply a race equity lens to policies, recruitment, retention, strategies, employee experience, culture, etc
Partner with DEIC, DEIC Chairs and Affinity Group Chairs to develop and implement DEI initiatives to attract, retain and promote a diverse workforce while promoting and internal culture of inclusion
Collaborate with Education / Operational Development Department to assist in developing a strategic education plan for the organization as DEI training material is developed and obtained
Partner with Quality and Patient Experience to embed DEI initiatives into patient care, quality, and safety
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
Proven, progressive experience and demonstrated effectiveness, building and leading Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and programs
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and interface effectively with all levels of the organization
Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in facilitating, leading by influence, and presenting clear and progressive works
Leadership experience: ability to lead through change
Experience creating training materials and training others
Experience facilitating high stakes / sensitive conversations
Ability to think, mediate and critically coach without personal biases
Change Management training and experience
Experience with Organizational Design (Re-design)
Employee Relation experience a plus
Project management experience in HR, emphasis on DE&I

The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance was incorporated in 1998 as a separate, jointly governed non-profit that included the cancer programs of three partners. Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is a cancer treatment center that unites doctors from Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center, University of Washington Medical Center, and Seattle Children’s. The purpose of this organization is to provide state-of the-art patient and family centered care; support the conduct of cancer clinical research and education; enhance access to improved cancer interventions; and advance the standard of cancer care regionally and beyond. The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is the only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Northwest, and according to the National Cancer Data Base, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance patients in general have better survival rates than patients treated at other cancer treatment centers.
