The Pulmonary Technologist II will be responsible for:
Performing a variety of state of the art pulmonary function tests on patients of all ages. Assembling data collected, performs calculations, assesses the quality of the study, generates reports, informs and discusses results with referring physician/research team.
Performing sweat testing on patients of all ages. Analysis requires use of analytical bench skills.
Continuously assesses patient performance and instrument function during testing.
Reviewing test results to ensure validity and quality. Making recommendations to requesting provider regarding further testing. Communicating assessments to physician and supervisor.
Maintaining and calibrating equipment, according to standard. Repairing and troubleshooting equipment when possible.
Processing and verifying patient billing statistics, as needed.
Completion of and oversight of Multiple Breath Washout (MBW) Testing for all research studies, for all age ranges. This would include obtaining certification, assisting other staff obtaining certifications as needed, supply ordering and management, review of data queries and re-running data as needed, communication with sponsors regarding MBW training, testing, and troubleshooting
Participating in the training and education of staff on completion of MBW, spirometry, and other pulmonary function tests as needed
Assisting the managers in the daily operations of the lab, ordering of supplies, maintaining inventory, and scheduling.
To qualify, you must have:
A Bachelor's degree is required.
One year of basic technical training in pulmonary function testing.
Pulmonary Technologist certification preferred.
Must pass Pulmonary Technologist certification test within one year of hiring to administer bronchodilators or hypertonic saline.
