SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR , Center for International Studies (CIS) , to be responsible for the deployment and support of hardware and software used for teaching, research, and administration by faculty, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, researchers, and staff. Will evaluate, purchase, integrate, and provide support for the effective use of a variety of computing and peripheral technologies; maintain and update technology systems in accordance with Institute guidance and best practices; assist faculty, researchers, and staff by identifying tools for technological solutions to academic and administrative needs and offer training for the implementation of such technologies; proactively identify topics for informal and formal workshops to support access to and facility with relevant technologies; and perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Will report to the administrative officer.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in related field; at least five years' experience supporting Windows and macOS environments; advanced-level knowledge of macOS software and Apple hardware troubleshooting; proficiency with network troubleshooting and server administration; operational understanding of Linux, desktop and server virtualization, and network-attached storage solutions; strong organizational skills for arranging and completing tasks spanning a variety of topics and for closely managing a large inventory of technology; strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills; self-motivation; ability to evaluate priorities and exercise independent judgment in managing workload, effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences; quickly learn new technologies, and work independently with little supervision. Must be able to traverse long distances or move between job sites and lift or move objects weighing 10 to 20 lbs.
