The School of Nursing at Salem State University invites applicants for a full-time temporary faculty position to teach maternity and or pediatric nursing. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to teach in our dynamic undergraduate nursing program.
We are interested in faculty who have a strong interest in educational excellence and in the preparation of a nursing workforce who are able to meet the many challenges of today’s health care environment. Successful candidates will engage in student centered teaching. Additional duties include, but are not limited to engaging in accreditation activities, program evaluation, curriculum development, evaluation of policies, and service to the School of Nursing and university as needed. This is a one-year appointment with potential for renewal twice more for a possible total of three years, contingent upon job performance and funding.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidates are required to perform duties in accordance with theMSCA contract. Duties include teaching, advising, and contributions to continuously improve the department and university. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. The position is subject to available funding.
A master of science in nursing (MSN); a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience; evidence of expertise in adult health nursing. Candidates must possess or be eligible for Massachusetts RN license.
An earned doctoral degree; previous teaching experience at the college/university level is strongly preferred; experience in: undergraduate nursing curriculum, instructional technologies, program development, and evaluation. Possess experience in and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring in a multi-racial, multi-ethnic environment with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
