The candidate will be a project coordinator and primary contact for studies entering the High Throughput Sequencing Facility (HTSF). It will be the responsibility of the individual to assist with the drop-off/check-in process, field phone calls and emails, and answer issues or direct those issues to a better resource at the HTSF. This will require the candidate to work closely with all HTSF lab managers and leadership. The candidate will review Quality Assurance Quality Control (QAQC) of material submitted, process and deliver the result to the study for approval to continue sample processing. They will additionally send notifications for project status updates, review and approve submissions, generated quotes, pull reports as need by staff and studies, and make submission processing updates in the databases (Tracseq and LIMS). Additional duties are (1) assisting the Tracseq IT staff to improve the database, (2) maintaining an updated HTF website, (3) assisting HTSF Project Director with external and governmental contracts, (4) maintaining records for all contracts, statements of work (SOW), modifications to initial contract MOD versions, (5) maintaining the storage system for all materials entering and created at the HTSF, (6) assisting in coordination for Quality Management Systems (QMS) and (7) acting as workshop and seminar coordinator.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
The selected candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a high pressure and in a diverse environment. Strong organizational skills are essential for this role. This individual must be flexible in schedule, collaborative, yet able to work effectively with a high degree of independence.
Preferred candidates will have the following: -BS degree in Biology or another related Biological science -2 years lab experience -Administrative experience -Knowledge and experience working with Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
