Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a motivated Medical Assistant for Adult, Child, and Adolescent Outpatient Services within Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC).
The Medical Assistant provides medical assistance to physicians and nurses in the examination and treatment of patients.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Escorts patients to examining room and conducts health screening at intake and designated intervals.
Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Completion of an accredited program in medical assisting or its equivalent.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Must be PC literate with proficiency in data entry and word processing.
Must agree to record searches in accord with New Jersey statute.
One (1) year prior experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Lift supplies and equipment (up to 15 pounds).
Requires reporting to work in spite of inclement weather and other external events.
Occasionally subjected to irregular hours.
