Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Clinician III for the Child & Adolescent Services department at Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC).
Under supervision, the Mental Health Clinician III provides culturally competent outpatient clinical services that meet the needs of the designated population. Participates in the assessment of clinical needs and provides focused skill acquisition and symptom management using evidence supported individual, group, and family therapy for mental health and co-occurring chemical abuse/dependency.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Consistently behaves in accordance with established Unit and Center policies and procedures as observed by supervisor.
Consistently ensures that patient’s rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy and civil rights are maintained as observed by supervisor and minimal complaints and some positive feedback from peers, patients and their families.
Provides psychotherapeutic interventions/services in accordance with accepted professional and ethical standards of UBHC.
Effectively collaborates as clinically indicated with other staff members, referral sources, community resources, families and support systems as evidenced by feedback, supervisor observation and record review.
Evaluates supervisees' performance to determine areas of strength and those in need of improvement as indicated by written evaluations and supervisory observations.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in a mental health discipline.
Experience in the mental health field delivering psychotherapeutic services, psychological/neuropsychological assessment and assessments to children and families.
Bi-lingual skills (English/Spanish).
