A one-year postdoctoral associate position is available within the Department of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases, Yale School of Public Health, with the possibility of renewal for at least one more year. The successful candidate will join the research group of Dr. Elsio Wunder and Dr. Albert Ko to work on a unique NIH supported project with the aim to understand the genetic mechanisms of pathogenesis associated with Leptospira. The postdoctoral associate will conduct experiments at Yale to examine how genes of pathogenic, intermediate and non-pathogenic species of Leptospira are expressed and function in environments that correspond to the cycle of transmission of the pathogen and during essential pathogenesis processes, revealing genes that will be targeted for further characterization.
