The Master of Arts in Design Engineering (MADE), in partnership between RISD and Brown Universityâ™s School of Engineering (SoE), is an intensive program that fosters innovation at the intersection of design and engineering. The MADE Program Coordinator coordinates and supports the development, implementation and maintenance of various, non-academic aspects of the MADE Program. Under the direction of the Executive Director of the MADE Program, the incumbent will deliver processes that integrate the requirements and operations of both institutions. This will ensure that the students have access to the resources and services of both institutions and that joint degree granting proceeds without obstacles. The incumbent manages the administration, maintenance, updating and communication of the MADE Programâ™s administrative policies and procedures to students and constituents to ensure success. Once operating, the Program Coordinator will assist with ongoing assessment, improvement, and problem solving within the program. The incumbent is responsible for the delivery of appropriate student services, coordinating the approval of new courses, scheduling of studios, supportive services for faculty, adjuncts, visiting lecturers/presenters, and external partners, and the oversight of the program space. The Program Coordinator will also coordinate documenting and publicizing events, activities, and awards associated with the program.Â The Program Coordinator reports to the program co-directors.
Education and Experience
Bachelorâ™s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
1-2 years program coordination and administration experience preferably in an academic environment

High level of computer expertise and continued interest in maintaining skills: Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong customer service, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, plus the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Thorough knowledge of office systems (records maintenance, procedures, etc.).
Detail orientated with a strong customer service orientation and high level of accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and exercise tact, discretion, judgment and ability to prioritize task completion.
Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.Â
