The primary purpose of this position is to assist the PI and other technical staff in executing, interpreting, and reporting scientific experiments designed to evaluate the pharmacokinetics of inhaled therapeutics for treatment of COVID-19. (Note: these studies will not directly involve Sars-CoV-2 virus.) Scientific techniques that the candidate will learn include, but are not limited to, human airway cell culturing, in vivo (animal) and in vitro biophysical techniques, molecular biology, and microscopy imaging. A partial component of this position is general laboratory management including participation in daily operations including ordering supplies, general record keeping, and compliance with health and safety procedures.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
A successful candidate will have experience in performing general laboratory procedures. Can follow detailed protocols precisely. Fluent with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel software.
The candidate must be organized, reliable, scientifically motivated, with keen attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a larger research team.
Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biomedical engineering, or similar discipline. Knowledge of biochemical, cell biology, and biophysical concepts.
2+ years of part-time experience or 1+ years of full-time hands on research experience. Demonstrated expertise in tissue cultures.
