The College of Human Sciences at Iowa State University is seeking candidates for an Accountant I.Â The fiscal officers within the College of Human Sciences Administration budget, monitor, review, and approve financial transactions within the college. This position works under the supervision of the Senior Manager of Budget and Finance.
Applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures in processing financial transactions within university financial systems.
Monitoring records of past and present operations, assisting college faculty and staff in completing financial transactions, and initiating corrections to past transactions.
Submitting changes to payroll costing allocations and projecting the budget impact of staffing changes and unplanned expenditures.
The successful candidate will have:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to exercise good judgement in evaluating requests and reviewing expenditures.
Outstanding organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work with stakeholders of all levels in order to be effective in this role.
Number of Months Employed Per Year:
