This position will work as part of our Wheelchair and Lawn Chair team at Tanglewood in Lenox, MA. If you love dealing with people, working outdoors and want to gain valuable customer service skills while earning money this is a great summer work experience. Provide a high priority service of transporting patrons from the parking lots to their seats.

The two parts of this job’s responsibilities for this position are listed below:
Wheelchair:Assist patrons by bringing them to their concert seats, restrooms, gift shops, car, food venue, and other wheelchair accessible places on the Tanglewood grounds in Tanglewood wheelchairs. Arrive at Tanglewood at least 30 minutes prior to the grounds opening. Sit quietly and patiently while the concert is being performed or perform other tasks specified.
Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age. Attendants 18 years of age and over will help with chair lawn collection. Have excellent customer service skills. Must be patient and be able to handle the general public under difficult conditions. Need to be comfortable around disabled patrons. Each attendant must be able to push at least 200 Lbs. in a wheelchair. Due to the high volume of patrons who need assistants all attendants must be free to work most Friday evening, Saturday evening and all Sunday afternoon concerts. Work as a Lawn Chair Attendant when needed.
Lawn Chair: Provide a high priority service of renting lawn chairs to patrons. Rent lawn chairs to patrons who visit Tanglewood. Keep track of pre-ordered lawn chair rentals. Assist patrons set up the lawn chairs. Collect, stack, and record all chairs at the end of each night. Remove broken or damaged chairs from the lawn chair inventory. Set up and clean chairs prior to the gates opening. Arrive at Tanglewood at least 30 minutes prior to the grounds opening. Sit quietly and patiently while the concert is being performed or perform other tasks specified.
Qualifications: Attendants under the age of 18 will not help with chair collection. Able to lift at least 50 pounds. Have excellent customer service and people skills. Must be patient and be able to handle the general public under difficult conditions. Work as a Wheelchair Attendant when needed.
