With overall direction from the manager of the BRCF Epigenomics core, this individual will work independently on investigator projects as part of the fee for service activity. This includes but is not limited to development of assays, sample preparation services and quality control assessments. This individual will also work in collaboration with other BRCF cores for project throughput.
The Epigenomics Core is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual, whose responsiblities will be centered primarily around sample preparation for Chip-Seq, ERRBS/mERRBS, hMeDIP, and bisulfite treatment for sequencing on Illumina platforms. Responsibilities will include sample reception and quantification, quality control (PCR, qPCR, Agilent TapeStation), DNA and RNA extraction, bisulfite treatment of samples for microarray platforms, along with other duties as assigned. Organize sample inventories, perform quality control, maintain and order stock supplies, solvents and chemicals. Work with others to optimize protocols for sample preparation to gain efficiency outcomes.
Master's Degree in science. Extensive prior experience in molecular biology (minimum of 5 years) including the following techniques: nuclei isolation from frozen cells/tissues for ChIP-Seq and ATAC-Seq, nucleic acid extractions and quality control, PCR, quantitative PCR. Excellent data recording and organizational skills are required. Communication skills with customers and colleagues both written and verbal. The applicant should be detail oriented with a willingness to learn new skills and work independently, but still be a tema player. Good computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office programs.
PhD in science. Prior experience with epigenomics assays.
