The USCÂ School of Cinematic Arts, John C. Hench Division of Animation and Digital Arts is seeking applicants for two open-rank part-time faculty positions at the Adjunct Assistant, Associate or full Professor level, dependent upon experience to join its team. We areÂ seeking designer/animators with current professional experience to teach two practical courses in design for animation at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Candidates should have experience in all phases of design for animation: art direction, image design, style frame creation, color, lighting and shape design.Â Candidates are required to have excellent professional skills in Adobe Photoshop and After Effects.Â Please submit a link to CV and current professional reelÂ of work.Â Prior undergraduate and/or graduate level teaching experience is preferred.
Minimum Education:Â BFA degree in Animation or Art and Design
Minimum Experience:Â 5 years of professional experience in animation or motion graphics as a designer/animator with solid working knowledge of image design, style frame creation, color, lighting and shape design.Â Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects is a must.Â Â
Preferred Education:Â MFA degreeÂ inÂ Animation or Art and Design
Preferred Experience:Â 8 years of professional experience in animation or motion graphics as a designer/animator with solid working knowledge of image design, style frame creation, color, lighting and shape design. Experience using 2d animation software. Experience teaching design for animation at the university level is highly desirable.
