Job Description Summary The Administrative Assistant I (AAI), UGA Call Center manages the Call Center and provides operational support within the Office of Undergraduate Admission. Duties include providing excellent customer service to external callers, answering messages received via email and through online chat portals, and supervising student workers within the Call Center. In addition, the AAI will provide occasional back-up support for the Graduate Admission Call Center. The AAI is expected to stay informed on university and admission policies and procedures in order to answer questions and re-direct inquiries accordingly.
Additional duties include sorting incoming mail and shipping admission materials to schools and college fairs sites. With other members of the operations team, the AAI will facilitate completion of admission applications by contacting applicants regarding missing?or incomplete credentials. The AAI will also assist with?admission-related events including open houses, information sessions and other venues that bring prospective families to campus.?
Answer incoming phone calls in the Undergraduate Admission Call Center.
Supervise student employees who staff the Call Center.
Answer emails submitted to the general admission inbox and queries received through the online chat portal.
Process incoming mail and outgoing shipments of admission materials.
Provide back-up coverage to the Graduate Admission Call Center.
Assist with data entry and provide operational support at admission-related events.
Other special projects as needed.
A minimum of a High school diploma.
2-4 years office/computer?experience.
Excellent customer service skills including a calm demeanor and an abundance of patience.
Must be proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications.?
Organizational skills with attention to detail are imperative.?
Working area is open and divided by partitions.
Noise level can be disruptive with other operation employees, student employees and temporary help working nearby.
Overtime is required during peak cycles.?
Data entry requires accuracy, speed and coordination. Eye strain may result from working on a computer all day.?
