The Laboratory of Dr. Hans Snoeck in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Medicine seeks a Tech B to support the lab's daily functions.
Coordinate laboratory supply ordering with administrator who will place and reconciles orders.
Maintain CO2 and N2 tanks, verify before weekends and holidays, place orders as needed. Monitor freezer alarms.
Organize lab and supplies as needed, maintain supplies in tissue culture room.
Oversee proper use and maintenance of equipment, organize repair when needed.
Laboratory work: Genotyping of mice; Mouse husbandry; Maintenance of cell lines; Preparation of reagents and culture media; Batch testing of reagents and media; Organize karyotyping of cell lines every 6 months; Mycoplasma test of all cell lines every 6 months; Oversee operation of light sheet microscope.
Assist lab members with: Flow cytometry; Genotyping; Cell and tissue culture; PCR; Peripheral blood counts of mice; Tissue sections, histology, staining.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Requires bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo drug screening prior to a final offer of employment being made.
Must successfully meet systems training requirements.
