Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a Scheduling Assistant/Receptionist for the Patient Business Services department at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The primary purpose of the Scheduling Assistant/Receptionist position is to act as a receptionist, schedule, and maintain patient appointments. Provide general office support for the Eric B. Chandler Health Center and its affiliate sites under limited supervision.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Functions as a receptionist at the EBCHC Call Center.
Schedules and maintains appointments in accordance with departmental procedures.
Answers incoming telephone calls and appropriately routes messages.
Assists with Call Center projects, as assigned.
Pre-registers new patients including insurance information.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Two years (2) of prior clerical/general office experience, preferably in a physician, hospital or health center setting.
At least one (1) year of receptionist and scheduling duties.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position.
Working with office equipment and confidential patient records and correspondence.
Proofread and check documents for accuracy.
Bi-lingual skills (English/Spanish).
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center.
