The Marshall School of Business, Dpt. of Business Communication (BUCO) is seeking a Department Coordinator (Job Code: Office Manager). Â
The Department of Business Communication is comprised of 20 full-time and 7 to 9 part-time/adjunct faculty. The faculty collectively teach about 80 to 90 course sections per semester, which include core required courses throughout all prominent Marshall programs. Many of the faculty are award-winning teachers and selected faculty are also published researchers.Â
The department coordinator will partner with the chair and faculty to coordinate course teaching assignments and scheduling, assist hourly employees/part-time faculty with data entry, and handle or supervise all other operations, including, but not limited to, reconciling budgets, initiating grade corrections, facilitating the assembly of promotion materials, facilitating the collection of merit review documents, and coordinating faculty recruitment.Â
Responsibilities and Duties
Establish course schedules for fall/spring/summer semester
Collaborate with chair in faculty/scheduling discussions and initiating scheduling process to meet deadlines
Handle payroll for part-time faculty
Faculty pay management for overload activity
Reconcile monthly departmental STARS accounts
Continuous FACT data entry/ tracking faculty teachingÂ
Complete compilation of dossier materials for professorsâ promotion dossiers
Initiate the Curriculog process for new courses and course revisions
Initiate and track ad placement for FT and PT faculty position
Submit contract data for part-time facultyâs teaching
Update and follow through with various staff across Marshall and USC in all administrative matters that fall under her/his responsibilities
Problem solving for faculty community - scheduling, policies, grading logistics
Problem solving for student community - curriculum questions, handling D-clearance for special cases
Facilitate grade corrections
Supervise and guide budget assistant.
Highly organized; sense for detail
Ability to work independently; keep track of deadlines for tasks
Ability to initiate processes
