Prepares financial reports within sponsor defined formats and terms, monitors expenditures for compliance with sponsor agreements, and establishes grant/contract accounts and budgets in the PeopleSoft Financial Administration System. Perform grant/contract accounting duties to include recording of revenue, record and collect account receivables, approval and processing of budget transfers/revisions, and oversight of daily college expenditure activity. Provide daily assistance to System Office and college personnel to achieve sponsor defined goals and objectives.
This position is located in Versailles, KY.
Preparation and submission of financial reports to grant/contract Sponsors within defined report forms and terms. Requires a detailed knowledge of Federal and State government regulations and private sponsor terms, plus advanced report writing skills and knowledge of PeopleSoft Financial Administration System. Additional duties may include student financial aid and direct student loan reconciliations and the duties of performing daily cash draws from the U.S. Department of Education's G5 system and posting of student aid received from Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA).
Perform daily all necessary accounting functions for grants/contracts including the creation of accounts and establishing budgets in the PeopleSoft Financial Administration System, preparation and approval of journal entries, recording revenue, recording bank deposits, and establishing and collecting all accounts receivables. Calculate and record indirect cost revenue for KCTCS in accordance with Sponsor guidelines.
Provide daily written and oral communications to system office and college personnel, and grant sponsors to provide interpretation and assistance with concerns and questions regarding grant/contract stipulations, revenues, expenses, and budgets.
Perform daily quality assurance reviews of grant/contract revenues and expenditures to detect disallowed costs per sponsor regulations and ensure accounting transactions have been recorded properly.
Assist with all grant/contract audit reviews to include the annual KCTCS audit by third-party accounting firm, and all external audits by Federal and State agencies. Perform routine internal audits of grant/contract funds.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree and three (3) to four (4) years relevant experience.
Bachelor's Degree and five (5) to seven (7) years relevant experience.
Background in Accounting, Grants, Education or equivalent.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word as well as experience working software systems such as Peoplesoft.
KY law requires state and national pre-employment background checks as a condition of employment.
