JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, this position assists in various routine research activities within the in the Department of Pharmacology. The research focuses investigating signaling pathways and related circuits that alter motivational states associated with alcohol and nicotine dependence, and co morbidities..
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts research in the study of neuropeptidergic regulation of compulsive ethanol seeking from gene to behavior.
Assists in performing C. elegans and invertebrate model cultures.
Conducts Functional validation of nicotine dependence in C. elegans.
Conducts behavioral analysis, locomotion analysis, and PCR under PI's supervision.
Generates and analyzes data, and discuss with the PIs. Maintains and orders supplies
Performs other related duties as assigned.
