Our PATIENT FINANCIAL SERVICES department has an outstanding opportunity for a FULL TIME (100% FTE, 40 hours per week), DAY SHIFT, PATIENT ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE 1.
The PATIENT ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE 1 will:
Post adjustments to patient accounts according to departmental procedures
Post and balance daily remittances to patient accounts; post allowances and adjustments accompanying cash remittances
Screen, scan and process incoming correspondence to ensure routing to appropriate work queues/units
Print, distribute and mail claims; process returned mail
Print medical records and itemizations as required for claims submission
Produce and print account summaries, itemizations, and other documents as required, in response to requests from attorneys and others
Perform data entry; document activities accurately in all applicable systems, and in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
Maintain confidentiality of information, including protected health information (PHI)
Participate in and attend meetings and training as required
May assist in orienting and training new staff
May occasionally speak to patients, clinical staff, or third-party payers
Knowledge of UB, CMS 1500, ADA and other utilized billing forms and payer requirements
Knowledge of Epic Hospital Billing and/or Professional Billing, and registration systems
High School graduation or equivalent AND one year of experience in patient accounting, customer service, or a related office environment, OR
