UW MEDICAL CENTER - MONTLAKE - PHARMACY is looking for an outstanding FULL-TIME PHARMACY TECHNICIAN 2 - QUALITY ASSURANCE (Rotating Day Shifts) to join our Pharmacy team! We are looking for a detail focused, caring and thoughtful individual to provide excellent care for our patients. Under the general supervision and control of a licensed pharmacist, our Pharmacy Technician 2 independently performs specialized, technical pharmaceutical tasks such as maintaining a controlled substance area and/or automated medication distribution system, and area-specific specialized technical tasks such as performing inspections of medication storage areas and communicating issues to unit leadership.
Primary Job Responsibilities: • Perform the duties of a Pharmacy Technician 1. • Prepare medications from a physician order which may include compounded sterile products, investigational drugs, hazardous medications and extemporaneously prepared doses. • Accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations. • Perform inspections of medication storage units throughout the medical center • Troubleshoot technical questions related to specialized area. Serve as a resource to nursing, pharmacy and medical staff for policies and procedures. • Maintain all quality assurance documentation required for specialized duties. • Interact with professional and technical staff as well as customers in a friendly and courteous manner. • Assist in the training of pharmacy assistants, technicians, students and interns. • Adhere to UWMC Pharmacy Services and UW Medical Center policies and procedures.
