Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking two highly motivated Research Technician candidates to perform functional genomics using CRISPR/Cas9 technology for gene-editing and functional screens. The successful candidate will be: (1) assisting in undertaking CRISPR functional screens to discover genetic dependencies in preclinical models of pancreas cancer; (2) assisting in developing genetic screen assays using CRISPR (3) Performing mammalian cell culture (4) Performing PCR and molecular cloning.
The duration for this position is one year.
Education: BS/BA in Biology or related discipline is required (minimum). Skills/Experience: Successful applicant should possess at least one year of research experience. Significant experience in the area of mammalian cell culture is required (human and mouse cell cultures). Experience in molecular biology is desired (e.g. DNA cloning, DNA and RNA isolation, PCR). Candidate must he very organized and a highly motivated individual in learning functional genomics and pancreatic cancer biology, as well as having strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
