The Senior Office Assistant provides clerical support to the administrative functioning of the Registrar's Office. These positions are assigned to particular units within the Registrar's Office where they carry out functions specific to that unit's area of responsibility. The Senior Office Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the smooth function of the workflow of the office, will be responsible for supporting various areas depending on office demand, and also support the customer service provision of the office. As the resident experts of their various areas of work, they often handle referred cases that require more specialized knowledge. They are responsible for training new staff, and for supervising student and seasonal workers as needed. These positions report to the assigned Assistant University Registrar.
This is an administrative position, governed by a Local 1205 Teamsters union contract.
Provide data entry and operational flow service to the functional area of the Registrar's Office.
Provide specialized referral service to customers interfacing with the office by phone, in-person, and via electronic communication.
May be responsible for generation, analysis, and calculations of reports.
Responsible for checking work and ensuring system data integrity.
Use advanced knowledge to resolve problems for students, faculty, and staff.
Identify problems/issues with office procedures in an effort to streamline and work with supervisor(s) to improve procedures and processes.
Other duties as assigned.
3-5 years of experience in an Administrative setting
Excellent writing, communication and customer service skills.
High degree of accuracy required.
Ability to work independently and expediently with minimal supervision.
Flexibility in coordinating multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.
Ability to organize and process high volume work.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.
Registrar's Office or similar higher education experience preferred.
Knowledge of Banner and Google Suite a plus. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
