The Senior Business and Data Analyst is responsible for the configuration, regular use and management of all of the academic modules in PeopleSoft and coordinates projects requiring a high level of functional expertise in Student Records for the Office of the Undergraduate Registrar. This position is also responsible for the official reporting of student records data to all university stakeholders as appropriate. In addition, this position sets standards for implementation and use of software in the unit and serves as a liaison between functional and technical staff. This position is engaged in a dynamic integrative-enrollment strategic plan focused on initiatives that improve the quality, effectiveness, and services impacting registration, transfer evaluation, class scheduling, advising, and graduation requirements for APU students. Additionally, this position continually analyzes and audits data in order to improve business processes as needed by staff. This position must translate between business, data, and technical personnel and resources daily. This position plays a critical role in training and IT project development.
Master's degree required.
Five to seven years of experience of configuring and managing one or more of the following, preferably for a higher education institution: Academic Advisement, Student Records, Admissions Systems, Student Financials Systems, Financial Aid Systems or Campus Community
Experience: Performing data analysis, working with relational databases and strong SQL skills, developing data visualizations, coding BI Publisher reports, programing academic requirements, with PeopleSoft CommGen functionality, and experience implementing new technology and business processes, and writing business manuals.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
Manages the day to day operations of all academic modules in PeopleSoft and acts as a liaison for the Registrar's Office to university stakeholders (faculty, staff, students, etc.).
Collaborates with the Associate Director and Registrar to develop the Strategic Plan for all academic modules in PeopleSoft.
Collaborates with the Associate Director and Registrar to prioritize projects and request additional resources. Makes recommendations for system modifications and additional software needs to IMT.
Collaborates with the Associate Director, Registrar, and IMT to coordinate all technical issues.
Responsible for management/configuration of all of the academic modules in PeopleSoft in conjunction with IMT and the Office of the Graduate and Professional Registrar.
Uses PLSQL to write reports in SQL Developer and PeopleSoft Query Manager.
Creates and runs reports.
Analyzes system data and makes recommendations to aid in university decision-making. Audits, researches, and proposes improvements to existing processes.
Configures and coordinates scheduling of processors pertaining to UG student records, including term activation, enrollment appointments, grade rosters and other batch processes.
Oversees training of UG Registrar staff on all relevant software and documentation of all business processes.
Adept at analyzing complex systems, requirements and data to solve problems, improve processes, and develop new business tools.
Ability to conceptualize and analyze strategic initiatives, identify and focus on minute details, advance an organizational culture of excellence, manage staff members, knowledge of office procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word.
Type 50 wpm.

Zendesk and other Customer Relationship Management tools.
Business Intelligence and Business Analysis reporting tools.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, with experience in other MS Office applications.
