The Department of Mathematical Sciences at University of South Carolina Aiken (USC Aiken) invites applications for an Instructor in computer science with a focus on applied gaming to begin August 16, 2020.
This is an exciting opportunity to help grow and shape this new program at USC Aiken. The Central Savannah River Area (CSRA), which includes Aiken, SC and Augusta, GA, is experiencing unprecedented growth, interest, and opportunity in computer science, specifically in cybersecurity and applied gaming. Faculty in these positions will have the opportunity to collaborate with our industry partners (e.g. Savannah River National Laboratory, US Army Cyber Center of Excellence, EDTS, Unisys, Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, and Savannah River Remediation).

Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Requirements: (1) Ph.D. (by July 1, 2020) in computer science with knowledge and experience in applied gaming (which includes augmented and virtual reality) or a combination of a master's degree with five years of professional experience or a bachelor's degree with ten or more years of experience in discipline; and (2) potential for effective teaching at the undergraduate level using engaged learning strategies appropriate to the discipline and level. Successful candidates will have the qualifications for and interests in teaching a range of applied gaming related courses. This person will also be able to help the college strengthen relationships with local industry. Faculty normally teach 12 hours per semester. Salary commensurate with qualifications and teaching experience.
