The Department of Chemistry at Michigan State University invites applications for a position of Research Associate (post-doctoral researcher) in the lab of Professor Seokhyoung Kim. This position will support research projects in the areas of nanomaterials synthesis, photonics research, and solar energy applications.
Participate in design, build, and maintenance of chemical vapor deposition systems.
Synthesize and characterize semiconductor nanowires and/or related nanostructures.
Fabricate nano-devices using nanofabrication techniques.
Create and run finite-element models for optical analysis
Collaborate on advanced spectroscopic analysis

Doctorate -Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or related field
PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or related field, and any research experience
Experience with nanomaterials, quantum materials, and chemical vapor deposition.
Experience with optical microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, spectroscopy, and nanofabrication.
Experience with modeling using COMSOL
